Restoring The Good Bacteria In Your Pond

Small backyard ponds can be difficult to keep healthy. If your pond is mucky, cloudy, or has a great deal of sludge you can begin eliminating it by installing an aerator in the center of the pond. This will help when you have to start restoring the good bacteria that helps break down all of that organic material. Without aeration, the build up of muck will become greater then what bacteria alone can handle as the bacteria require oxygen to thrive and grow. They breathe oxygen just like we do.
